Project Overview
Eezy Bubble is an inclusive bubble toy designed to promote shared play and learning across diverse abilities. The project focused on creating an engaging and accessible experience for children ages 2–8 while encouraging children, parents, and educators to participate together.
Through market research, user feedback, prototyping, and testing with children with differing abilities, we developed a bubble toy with adaptable controls, large easy-to-grip handles, color and shape matching, and multiple levels of engagement.
Problem Statement:
How might we create an engaging bubble toy that promotes inclusive play across diverse abilities while encouraging shared play and learning?

Market Research
Our market research analyzed six toys, focusing on bubble toys, popular children's products, and adaptable play options.
The research revealed several opportunities within the existing bubble toy market, including low interactivity, loud mechanisms, and potential choking hazards. This created an opportunity to develop a more affordable, sensory-friendly bubble toy that incorporates color matching and switch adaptations to improve accessibility.

Three key design opportunities emerged from our research:

Target Consumer
Eezy Bubble is designed for families, educators, and children ages 2–8, with a focus on creating an experience that allows children with different abilities to play together.
The target users include:

User Profile
Our user profile centers around a caregiver of two children who is looking for a toy that promotes shared play and interaction between both children.

Prototype 1
We created a low-fidelity prototype and gathered feedback by having both children and adults interact with the design. This helped us identify opportunities to improve accessibility, engagement, and durability.

User feedback helped us identify four key areas for improvement: creating multiple levels of engagement, improving the wand handles and trays, and increasing durability.

Concept Ideation
During concept ideation, we explored various forms for the fan, solution trays, and wands to develop a cohesive and functional design.

We focused on creating a consistent visual language across the different components while maintaining the accessibility features identified through our research and initial user feedback.
Prototype 2
A second prototype allowed us to refine the functionality and interaction of the toy.

Feedback from this round focused on improving the performance and usability of the individual components.
Target User Testing
We tested the product at schools and facilities serving children with differing abilities. The testing focused on engagement, wand handles, wand trays, durability, and the effectiveness of shared play.
I used MDF to create a rough rectangular base for my light. To create the reflections, I added layers of mylar paper and tested different configurations to achieve the desired glow effect. Using LED lights, I experimented with various brightness levels to see how they interacted with the mylar under different lighting conditions. I found that this setup didn’t produce enough light, so I planned to explore new approaches as I moved into my next prototype.

Final Concept
The final Eezy Bubble design incorporates the feedback gathered throughout the research, prototyping, and user testing process.

Manufacturing Costs
We broke down the individual components of Eezy Bubble to estimate manufacturing costs and determine an appropriate retail price.

Cost Breakdown
Using the estimated manufacturing cost, we developed wholesale and retail pricing for the product.

Brand & Retail Presentation
Eezy Bubble was designed to retail for $29.99 and be positioned in the young children's aisle. The packaging was designed at 5 × 13 × 15 inches to fit within a typical retail shelf while providing strong product visibility through a product cutout.

Future Opportunities
Future iterations of Eezy Bubble could further expand the shared play experience while creating opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs.

Selling Points
Eezy Bubble combines accessibility, education, and shared play in a simple and affordable product.
