I designed and built a trestle table inspired by the refined minimalism of Scandinavian furniture. The design combines two solid poplar trestles with a large rectangular glass top, creating a light and airy appearance while maintaining functionality and stability. The trestles feature soft curves and intersecting pieces that elevate the center of the table, allowing the glass top to appear as though it is floating above the base. Designed to flat-pack for easy transportation and assembly, the trestles use tight-fit connections and dowel joints to create a clean and seamless construction.

The main challenge was balancing the delicate, minimal aesthetic with the structural requirements of supporting a large glass top. Through adjustments to the proportions and thickness of the trestles, I created a balance between lightness and stability. This project was an exploration of how Scandinavian design principles can be applied to create a piece that feels minimal and refined while remaining functional, practical, and structurally sound.
